January Favourites

It’s finally February and end of what felt like the longest month ever. January was a busy month for me as I started a new job, I felt I wasn’t right for the job role so I found a new job and handed my notice in. I now have all of February to concentrate on family life and the blog before I start my new job. Without further ado here’s what I loved in January and helped with my January blues.

Beauty Favourites

Hand Cream

Working in a school kitchen washing what felt like a thousand pots, left my hands feeling very dry and sore. So hand cream became my saviour and after every shift and before bed I made sure to religiously apply hand cream to make them softer and not as sore.

Bayliss & Harding sweet mandarin and Grapefruit Shower Cream.

I’m on my second bottle of this shower gel/cream. It lathers up nicely, leaving a nice smelling citrus smell (Fruity smells are my favourite). It leaves skin feeling soft and clean. I can’t say how long the smell lasts after the shower as I religiously apply body moisturisers and oils after my shower.

Lush Dream Cream

This moisturiser has been a life saver this past month because the cold weather and central heating have wreaked havoc on my skin turning what normally is soft as a baby’s bottom skin into a dry rough mess. After applying this cream after a shower it returns my skin back to its former glory. A little goes a long way with this cream so a tub will last you a while. The cream is non-greasy and applies like a dream (see what I did there), as it’s fast absorbing. The only downside is it’s not the nicest smelling moisturiser out there.

Marc Jacobs Matte Highliner Gel Eye Crayons in Earthquake & Deja-Blue

I received these two highliners complimentary from Influenster and John Lewis in exchange for an honest review. I’m a huge eyeliner fan and wear eyeliner on a daily basis so I was excited to receive these two beauties. Earthquake is a dark brown shade which is also the perfect shade for my eyebrows so I sometimes use this highliner to fill them in. I love a multi-use product. The Deja blue is a pale sky blue. The formula of these products is so creamy and applies like a dream it makes applying eyeliner so easy even for a makeup novice like me. It’s long lasting, smudge proof even on the rainiest of days. The colour payoff of these eyeliners is intense. I would definitely buy these highliners in the future in different colours.

Fashion Favourites

Dune Rose Embroidered bag

My other half bought me this bag for Christmas after me subtly dropping hints about what I wanted for Christmas and telling him to read my gift guide. The boy did good and managed to get me this beauty. This bag is now my everyday bag as it’s big enough to carry my everyday essentials in, looks stylish, and goes with most of my outfits.

Frends Layla Headphones in oil slick

I got these headphones three years ago for Christmas from my other half, little did I know that when I asked for them we were expecting a little bundle of joy and the need for headphones would be made redundant. Fast forward to this month and I’ve loved using these again, especially for the commute to work. These headphones not only look stylish but the quality of sound is really good and they fit my tiny ears perfectly without hurting my ears.

Hell Bunny Elvira Coat in Burgundy

This coat has been a godsend this month with sub-zero temperatures, rain, hail, sleet and snow. This coat kept me warm whilst making sure I still stood out from the crowd.

Lifestyle Favourites

The End of The F***ing world

Last month me and my partner binge watched this short series in a day. It’s a dark indie comedy that follows two 17-year-old outsiders embark on a road trip that makes them seem like the modern day Bonnie & Clyde. Each episode is only 20 minutes long but it has you laughing, cringing and even crying. I also loved the music and fashion in the series. It’s a must-see, it’s available on Netflix and All4.

The Misadventures of Catie Bloom – Brooke Stanton.

Sticking to my goals for 2018 of trying to read more books I read this little gem. It’s a lighthearted book that tells the story of a renowned lifestyle blogger Catie Bloom. The only thing is she’s told a few white lies about her lifestyle and how domesticated she really is. Is she about to get found out? Will people cover for her and will she find love? I enjoyed reading this book as it was lighthearted, heartwarming and funny and easy to read plus had a good storyline that left you to want to keep reading.

What were your January Favourites and do you have any book recommendations let me know in the comments?

Thanks for Reading
