March Favourites

Hi my beauty’s, hope all is well. Can you believe we’re already a quarter of a way through the year and it’s finally Spring even though someone really needs to notify the sun as we had lots of snow in March. March has been a busy month for me, as I started a new job role, and at the moment it is fitting around me and my family well and I do enjoy it. Also, March was the month I finally got my 20-month-old into her own bedroom and mostly sleeping through till morning. If you’re a parent you’ll know how much of a big achievement this is. Let me know in the comments if you would be interested in me mentioning in my monthly favourites, things that I helped find make parenting easier. Without further ado here are my monthly favourites.

March Faves 2018 - Beauty

L’Oréal Infailable Shaping Sticks

I picked up these three shaping sticks from boots at the beginning of the month as they were on offer for 3 for 2 and came with a free L’Oréal beauty blender. Since purchasing these 3 shaping sticks I have used them every day since. I have not used the blender however as I dislike using them (I know shock horror right, Please tell me I’m not the only one who doesn’t get the hype). I picked up two of the foundation sticks a light one in 120 vanilla rose for the base and to conceal, and the darker one in 210 Cappuccino to contour and add definition. I then bought the strobing stick in 501 Oh My Jewels.

I actually picked up the lighter shade thinking it was going to be a lot lighter and more of a highlight/concealer shade. This shades, however, is a perfect match for my skin tone as a foundation. The foundations easy to apply and blends into the skin like a dream due to its creamy formula. It provides medium coverage so concealer is needed for the areas where more coverage is needed.

The contour shade is rather warm toned so a light hand is needed when applying otherwise you can look rather orange. It blends into the skin so easily and is really pigmented so a little goes a long way and definitely does add warmth and definition to my face.

The strobing stick is easy to blend and provides a nice natural glow to the skin. Overall I love how these sticks work together to create a nice natural look for everyday makeup and make getting ready easier.

Nivea Lip Care Pearly Shine

March was a seriously cold month with what the beast from the east not just striking once but three times so wearing lip balm was essential to keep dry cracked lips at bay. This lip balm is perfect as it keeps lips feeling smooth and soft as it provides the delicate lip area with moisturiser and SPF protection and also provides lips with a subtle pearly shine great for wearing alone or with other lipsticks. The packagings also cute.

Too faced la Creme Colour Drenched Lipstick in Razzle Dazzle Rose.

I was shopping at TK Maxx when I discovered this little gem for £7.99, I mean I’ve heard all about two-faced beauty products and well being too much of a cheapskate I would never buy one of their lipsticks at full price I mean I’m not made of money. That was however until I tried this lipstick I mean I’m sold, it’s one of the nicest feeling lipsticks I have ever had on my lips. It makes them feel so soft and hydrated. The colour is the perfect pink for me and it’s super pigmented and has a nice shine effect to it. The colour lasts a few hours.

Checked Baker Boy Cap

Another month another new hat to add to my hat collection. I swear at this rate I’m going to need another room just for my hats. I was in TK Maxx and saw this beauty and tried it on and it matched my outfit perfectly so I had to buy it. I love checks and plan on adding more of them to my wardrobe.

Sunglasses

Somewhere in between the rain and snow, March did surprise us with the odd sunny day in which I decided to bring out the shades. Sunglasses are one of my favourite things about Spring/summer. They hide a multitude of sins and you can fall asleep on your commute without anybody knowing. I also love how they make an outfit feel complete.

Nescafé Gold Instant Coffee Sachets

This is not a sponsored post by Nescafé or anything I just really loved their flavoured coffee sachets this month. Every Monday I’d pop into my local ASDA and pick up a new flavour of coffee to try that week. I’d look forward to waking up in a morning to the taste of these delicious coffees. It really is the small things in life for me. My favourite is definitely the toffee nut, and white chocolate and pistachio mocha.

Love Lessons by Jacqueline Wilson

A month ago I went into my mum’s loft and came across a box of treasures including photos, magazines, MP3 players and this book. Jacqueline Wilson was my favourite author as a child and teenager. I read and loved all of her books as a youngster especially this one and the girls series. Rereading this book again was very nostalgic and reminded me of being 14 and having a crush on a teacher I mean haven’t we all. This book is about a teenage girl and her sister who’s dad is very controlling and home schools them and keeps them away from normality. When suddenly her dad’s taken ill the girls are thrown in at the deep end and sent back to school. The only person one of the girls can relate to is the handsome art teacher and develops a crush, he couldn’t possibly feel the same way, could he. ‘re reading this as an adult it has slightly a darker feel to it than reading it the first time.

Thanks for reading
