Product Empties – Aka Rubbish Hoarding

Product Empties All.jpgHi, my beauty’s hope all is well, sorry for the lack of posting I’ve been just so damn tired lately with running around after a toddler all day and then work and then when I finally get time to blog I end up asleep. This post is the products that I mostly used up till they were empty with the exception of a few that I just didn’t get on with. This year I decided instead of just using products just a handful of times then becoming bored and forgetting their existed and moving onto the next best thing, I was not going to buy any till I used up products. I’ve gotta say finally finishing products is strangely satisfying. Anyways without further ado here are my product empties (rubbish hoarding since January -April).

Product Epties Haircare.jpg

Pantene – In Shower foam Conditioner (Repair & Protect)

I was excited to try this novelty conditioner to see how it compared to normal Pantene conditioners. My hair just didn’t feel as conditioned as when using normal conditioners. I think this was due to having thick hair and the conditioners lightweight texture. It might work better if you have thinner hair.

Repurchase: No sorry Pantene I’ll stick to your normal conditioners in future.

Natural Classic Henna Treatment Wax

I was neither unimpressed or blown away by this product. It’s overall a good hair mask for how much it costs and the amount of product you get. It did leave hair feeling soft and shiny.

Repurchase: probably if we were to cross paths again.

Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo & Conditioner

These products smelt nice and left hair clean. They Also left my hair feeling super soft and looking shiny

Repurchase: yes when it’s on offer

Johnson’s Baby Shampoo

If your a parent, then it’s highly likely that this in your bathroom cabinet. Sensitive for baby’s skin and hair and eyes. It smells really nice too. It’s also great for cleaning makeup brushes.

Repurchase: already have done

Product Emties Shower

Bayliss & Harding Sweet Mandarin & Grapefruit Shower Cream & Bodywash

It leaves skin feeling soft and has a nice citrus smell.

Repurchase: No, because I already have a different Bayliss and Harding set ready to be used and I normally receive one of these gift sets for presents at birthdays and Christmas.

Facial Skincare.

Product Empties - Facial Skincare

Lush catastrophe Cosmetic Fresh Face Mask

I didn’t finish using this as it dried up easy but on the times I did use it left skin feeling smooth and soft and eased redness. It also didn’t cause the skin to break out like other masks can do.

Repurchase: no the expiry date is too soon for me.

Revuele Black Mask (peel off) pro-collagen

I didn’t get on with this product at all. It felt good when on the skin, but didn’t remove blackheads, only hairs and wasn’t easy to remove. A week or so after use when the hairs were growing back it caused my skin to break out and didn’t feel great.

Repurchase: No!!!!

Nip & Fab Dragon’s Blood Fix Cleansing Pads

These pads were great for saving time and left skin feeling clean and plumped up. Their removed makeup easily.

Repurchase: Yes if on offer.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

A great makeup remover that I probably will always use.

Repurchase: already have done. ✅

Simple Kind To Skin Dual Effect Eye Make-Up Remover.

I really disliked this product, it didn’t remove eye makeup easily at all and stung my eyes. The bottle also leaked that’s why it’s empty.

Repurchase: No!!

Body Care

Vita Coco Coconut Oil

I love this product, my holy grail product that I can’t live without. It’s the best thing to use on stretch marks and also great to use as a hair mask. It also works wonders at whitening teeth if you try oil pulling.

Repurchase: already have done ✅

Body shop Coconut Cream Body Scrub

This product didn’t suit me at all, it left my skin feeling like it was on fire.

Repurchase: No!!!

Body Shop Coconut Body Butter

This product smelt lovely and Coconutty. I love the smell of coconuts as it reminds me of holiday. This body butter left my skin feeling soft and moisturised. It wasn’t a greasy formula so you could get ready straight after.

Repurchase: Yes I would.

Superdrug My Little Star New Mum Nipple Cream.

I purchased this to use after the birth of Ava-Rose as I intended on breastfeeding but due to circumstances, I wasn’t able to. So me being me and been a cheapskate I didn’t want to get rid of this product so I googled if you could use it as a hand cream and foot cream and as it’s main ingredient is petroleum which is the main product In Vaseline you could. It’s quite greasy so I used it just before bed and I woke up with the softest hands and feet. So my top hack for baby soft hands and feet use nipple cream. It’s cheaper than most hand creams as well.

Repurchase: Yes!!

Palmers Cocoa Butter Original Formula – Solid

I’ve been a long fan of palmers cocoa butter products for years due to how good there are for Moisturising my skin and I love the chocolate smell. I was into oil based products when I purchased this. It’s a really good moisturiser and left my skin soft and smooth as it’s a solid formula it is quite oily so I did have to wait quite a bit before dressing. It also helped minimise the appearance of scars and stretch marks. A little of this product goes a long way so a tub lasts for a long time.

Repurchase: Yes.

L’Oréal Infallible 24h Foundation

I purchased this after seeing a YouTuber recommend it and saying it was a dupe for the MAC studio fix fluid foundation as it has a yellowish tint. You know your girl loves a good dupe. This foundation was high coverage, easy to blend, lasted for a good 7 hours which is rare for me. It didn’t dry out my skin either. It lasted a long time as one or two pumps is all you need.

Repurchase: Yes I would buy this foundation again.

Avon Big Daring Volume Mascara

I loved this mascara as it did what it says on the label it provided my eyelashes with va-va volume. It did clump, however, I’m a fan of that look.

Repurchase: Yes I would.

All opinions are completely my own and just because I didn’t get on with certain products doesn’t mean you might not.

OOTD – How To Survive An Heatwave In The U.K.

Hi my beauties, hope all is well? For the last few weeks, England has been enjoying glorious weather and even seen some areas reach over 26 degrees. If you’re not from the Uk you might be thinking what that’s still cold but over here that’s bikini weather. We have to make most of the sunshine. This post will hopefully help you do that and fingers crossed provide you with outfit inspiration.

OOTD Details

1. Prepare for the weather.

So the weather person has predicted an heatwave and it’s going to be hot. Your first thought is Yippee finally we get some sunshine after what felt like the longest and coldest winter. Your second thought is shit I’m not prepared for this weather, what am I gonna wear, my legs are as white as a ghost. So what to do, go look in the wardrobe and see if you have any summer-appropriate clothes like shorts, dresses, and if you don’t like getting your legs out, linen trousers are good as there are lightweight. If you don’t have any summer-appropriate clothes ASOS, Boohoo and Missguided all do summer-appropriate clothes on a budget and deliver next day. If your like me and feel more confident looking like a bronzed goddess then the tans I recommend are

  • Garnier Summer Body Light Gradual Tan Moisturiser – when used daily this tan will gradually give you a natural looking tan. It has a nice apricot smell and leaves your skin feeling moisturised.
  • Bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam Dark – This tan when left on for a few hours ( i leave it on overnight) will give you a nice natural looking tan what is not orange shaded at all. Smells like holiday in a bottle.
  • Solait Express Tan Dark – This tan is great for when you need to look tanned in a matter of hours. i simply apply and wash off 3 hours and i look like i’ve been sunning it up in the love island villa. It also has a nice tropical scent.

If the weathers nice, while you are not at work now, is the time to prepare your plans and if your planning on a BBQ I’d recommend inviting friends and family now because if you leave it to last minute I guarantee everyone will already be going elsewhere either to a BBQ or a beer garden or have other plans. When you know what your plans are and the number of guests, make a shopping list and shop as soon as possible otherwise if you leave it until the day of the hot weather, BBQ food will be out of stock just like here in the winter when everyone panic buys bread and milk it happens in summer but with bbq food us brits are crazy right.

2. Dress for the weather

Thanks, to the first step your now prepared for the weather your summer clothes are out of storage or your panic buy online is complete and you kinda have an idea of what to wear. Before getting ready I tend to think about what activities am I going to be doing today? If I’m working I can’t wear my shorts or a short summer dress so I tend to wear a midi dress or linen trousers. If I’m going to the pub I wear a summer dress and sandals and if we’re going to a family bbq or walk it’s shorts, t-shirt and trainers. One thing I would say to always carry in your bag is a jacket or cardi as later in the evening the weather tends to get cooler and we all end up huddling under the heater or fighting over who’s gonna wear the jacket next that the one smart person in the group thought to bring. Also bring a hat, shades and SPF.

3. Stay Hydrated

One of the most important steps is to remember to stay hydrated and drink plenty of alcohol water!! Here in the UK the first sign of sun and us Brits are off down to the local pub or having a bbq and drinking anything alcohol related. You might think because your drinking lots of alcohol your staying hydrated but in fact alcohol dehydrates you so drink water in between to stay hydrated and not feel as drunk because I personally find drinking in the sun makes you get drunk quicker. Trust me if you keep drinking water in between you will thank me for it in the morning.

4. Have fun!!

The most important step of all is to have fun and make the most of the sunny weather because it’s a rare thing but remember to stay safe. if you’re at work and you’re allowed to leave the building on your lunch hour get outta there and go for a walk. My favourite thing to do when the weathers nice is either go for a family bbq, take the daughter for a walk and to the park and if child-free go the beer garden as I like a pint or seven.

5. Moan about how warm it is

In true British style, we moan about the weather when it’s too cold and when it’s too hot. Is it just me or does the sun feel hotter over here than abroad?

My Skincare Routine

Hi, my beauty’s hope all is well, today’s post is all about my Facial skincare routine. I will be sharing my morning and night time routine that helps my skin stay soft and glowing and removes all traces of makeup. I’m quite lucky in that I have normal/combination skin and rarely suffer from breakouts unless it’s the time of the month and even then they not bad. But in typical fashion, because I’ve planned to do a skincare post my skin is suffering from a few breakouts but I think this is due to fake tan. Does anyone else have this problem when they use fake tan on their face?

My Morning Routine

Skincare Routine Morning Routine Products

  1. First thing I do when starting my skincare routine is to take back my hair by either tying my hair back or wearing a headband. At the moment I’m using this cute bunny ears headband from Primark.
  2. After I have no stray hairs on my face, I then apply a few drops of the micellar water to a cosmetic pad. I then take the pad and apply to the face and in circular motions move the pad around the face, being especially gentle around the eye area. The micellar water is great for use in the morning as it is gentle on my skin and removes any traces of makeup and sweat easily. It’s also a timesaver as it requires no rinsing which is perfect for in a morning as I’m normally short on time. Skincare Routine Cleansing
  3. After I have cleansed my face I then pump a pea-sized amount of the Nip&Fabs Dragon Blood Serum on the back of my hand. I then add a dot of it to both my cheeks, forehead and chin and rub into the skin in upwards and outwards motions. This product enhances moisturisation and plumps up the skin. This Serum is also ideal to use as a primer.
  4. I then apply the Simple Kind To Skin Revitalising Eye Roll-on to under my eyes in light circular movements and pat any remaining liquid into the skin gently with my fingertips. This product in a morning wakes up tired eyes and cools the eye area as it contains cucumber. Skincare Routine - Eye Roll On.jpg
  5. And last but not least I pump a pea-sized of the Garnier Moisture Bomb 3in1 Day Cream moisturiser to the back of my clean hand. I then apply all over my face and neck in upwards and outwards movements. This skin makes my skin feel moisturised all day and provides skin with an instant radiant look and contains UVA protection. As this moisturiser doesn’t make your skin sticky you can apply makeup soon after which is a timesaver in the morning. Skincare Routine - After Morning Routine

My Night Time Routine

My night time routine is effective at removing all traces of makeup and providing the skin with Moisture.Skincare Routine Nighttime Routine Products

  1. Like in the morning routine the first thing that I do is take my hair back off my face by either tying my hair back or wearing a headband. This is especially important in my evening routine as it contains oil and no one wants greasy hair.
  2. In the evening I like to use not one but two cleansers to make sure I remove all traces of makeup even waterproof mascara. So the first cleanser that I use is the Simple kind to skin hydrating cleansing oil. I first apply a few drops of this into the palm of clean hands and then massage into my face. I then rinse my face and hands with warm water, and then remove any traces of oil with a warm damp flannel. This oil makes removing makeup even waterproof makeup easy as it just melts it off. It leaves skin feeling soft and glowy. Skincare Routine Nightime Cleansing Oil
  3. For my second cleanser, I use the simple kind to skin Purifying cleansing lotion. I apply the cleanser to my hands and rub it gently into my face, to remove the cleanser I take one large oval cosmetic pad and wet it with warm water and then remove the cleanser off my face using the pad. When all the cleanser is removed I pat my face dry with a towel. Skincare Routine - Nightime routine
  4. After I have cleansed my face I then pump a pea-sized amount of the Nip&Fabs Dragon Blood Serum on the back of my hand. I then add a dot of it to both my cheeks, forehead and chin and rub into the skin in upwards and outwards motions. This product enhances moisturisation and plumps up the skin
  5. After applying the serum I then use my night time eye cream which is the Simple kind to eyes soothing eye balm. I apply a tiny amount to the back of my hand and dot a tiny amount under each eye and then gently pat the balm into my skin. The eye balm reduces puffiness and provides moisturisation for the delicate eye area.
  6. And last but not least is my night time moisturiser which is the Garnier moisture bomb hydrating night cream. I apply a pea-sized amount to the back of my hand and then apply it to my forehead, both cheeks and chin and then massage into the skin using upward and outward movements. This moisturiser has a gel-like consistency and is perfect for this time of year. It leaves skin feeling smooth and plumper and not as dry. This night cream also doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily like some thicker consistency moisturisers can do especially at this time of year.Skincare Routine Selfie after Nightime routine

And there you have my skincare routine that seems to work for my skin type. I’m now ready to enjoy my evening in my jim-jams probably binge-watching something on Netflix or youtube.
