A Post LockDown Try On Haul
Hi my beauties, hope all is well and were all safe. Long time no speak, life has pretty much returned back to “normal” (apart from social distancing) for us. June was a busy month as my partner returned back to work and my little girl returned back to school. With all my new found freedom i decided to decorate the living room and do a garden renovation. Were now 90% of the way there just waiting for things to come back in stock (keep your eyes peeled for a tour). At the start of this month, I got the dreaded call that I would be returning back to work, part of me was relieved that at least I still have a job for now (support your local businesses people). A part of me was anxious to return and the week before I could feel my anxiety starting to kick in, part of me was happy to return back to some form of normality and routine and a part of me was upset as I had quite got used to this new way of life. But that’s the funny thing about life isn’t it you never know what’s around the corner, you get used to something one minute then bam someone or something pulls a rug from under your feet and it changes again. I think this year so far has taught us one thing that were pretty strong and can adapt to change pretty well. In the little spare time that i had i treat myself to a little spot of retail therapy. So this post is all about some items of clothing and shoes that i picked up from various shops some in the sale and some not and styled them for you.

Outfit One

Can you believe this dress was only £14.99? The puff sleeve arms and the quality of the material feels expensive as it’s 100 percent cotton and is from H&M’s conscious range meaning that this dress is made from either organic or recycled materials meaning it’s better for the environment. I love how this dress fits, it looks and feels more expensive than it’s price tag and the fit of this dress will hide the fact that I had a few extra slices of pizza or a full packet of chocolate digestive biscuits. Looking great and helping to save the planet at the same time is a win-win. You can dress this dress down by wearing with chunky trainers like pictured for the model off duty vibe it you could dress it up with a pair of heels.

Outfit Two

The second thing I picked up was from outfit. The Outfit is a high street shop that has all the best high street stores under one roof like Topshop, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis and Quiz. I rarely shop at these shops at their standalone stores but enjoy shopping at each of them at Outfit because it’s a curated selection and theirs normally a bargain to be found. My first bargain I picked up was this black and white dandelion wrap midi dress from topshop for £25 in the sale. I just thought it was perfect for wearing now as like a kimono jacket over shorts and crop top for that festival vibe or wearing when the weather gets colder with boots. I love the print on this dress as it’s quite whimsical and has the bohemian style that I love.

Outfit Three

I picked up this cute black floral jersey dress from H&M for only £7. It gives me 90’s grunge vibes with the square neckline, tight fit and floral print. I wore it with this green cardigan also from H&M pre lockdown and these chunky trainers for a proper 90s look

Outfit Four

I picked up this little green number from a local boutique as its really important that we all support out local businesses as much as we can. I love the colour and print of this dress. It’s super flattering on with the milkmaid neckline and ruffle hem. I also wore it with my nutmeg yellow flared heel square toe mules that I picked up from the sale on topshop online. There are super comfy and not too high.

Outfit Five

Another item I bought while shopping was this yellow ditzy daisy print tiered hem skirt from George@Asda for only £8. I’d been after something yellow to wear with my yellow Topshop mules for a while so when I saw this skirt I was delighted and it went straight into the basket. I love how this skirt fits with its elasticated waist so its comfortable and the ruffles add movement. I paired it with this asymmetric ribbed white bodysuit from ASOS design that I picked up in the sale pre-lockdown. This look is perfect for a few bevvies in the beer garden at the local.

Outfit Six

Last but not least is this red dalmatian print bias satin Miniskirt from topshop for just £5. I mean a bargain. I’ll be honest when I first picked this skirt up I wasn’t blown away by it but after getting it home and trying it on its one of my favourites. It’s a perfect fit, flatters my body, perfect length and feels amazing. I paired it again with the white bodysuit. For the shoes I went with another pair of new shoes that I picked up in the Topshop sale, these white frill slingback kitten heels. If your like me love the look of elegant high heels but after only five minutes of wearing them you want to take them off well look no further these shoes are perfect for you. Their say party in the front and comfort in the back. The bag is an old favourite that I picked up from Croatia on holiday many years ago, its a red clutch bag that looks like a folded up vogue magazine and features the babe that is J.Lo.
