How To Style A Slip Skirt In Summer & Autumn.
Hi my beauties, hope all is well. How are we in September already, is it me or has his year flown by? I love this time of year as it means summer is drawing to a close, now don’t get me wrong i do like summer but i definitely feel more comfortable style wise in Autumn. I’m all about adding those extra layers on and i like to be warm. The weather at the moment is unpredictable as bloody ever, one minute were having a heatwave or Indian summer and your sweating your tits off or next minutes its freezing your tits off weather and you need all the layers and a pumpkin spice latte just to warm you up (I’ve yet to try the latter, can i even call myself a blogger). In today’s post i will focus on the humble slip skirt a item i was unsure about at first and how versatile it can be to style for both the warmer weather and cooler weather.
The Slip Skirt
The Slip skirt has come a long way from its humble beginnings in the 50’s & 60’s as it was originally used as underlay to help dresses & skirts hang properly, add an extra layer for warmth and to combat the problem of opaqueness. Fast forward to the 90’s and the Slip Dress/Skirt found its self center forward in mainstream fashion a long way from its humble beginnings as lingerie. Now its center stage yet again thanks to the revival of the 90’s new grunge fashion trend this autumn and winter, and seen on the catwalks for this spring and summer at Tom Ford. With its lightweight & body-skimming style it’s super flattering on everyone and incredibly versatile. So its no surprise that the Slip Skirt has been seen on everyone and everywhere from designers to the High street, from celebrities to street -style stars. The slip skirt is available in many colors, prints and different textures so theirs something for everyone.
Styling A Slip Skirt In Summer
The Slip Skirt is a versatile statement piece and can take you from the office to the bar, or brunch to date night. you can dress them up or down by simply changing your top half and footwear. I personally like wearing mine with a nice camisole top and mules or sandals for a night time look or graphic tee and chunky trainers and denim jacket for a laid-back day look.

Styling A Slip Skirt In Autumn
For styling the slip skirt in Autumn, its just as easy as adding layers whether this be by adding Jumpers, cardigans and coats and then adding boots. You can go for a monochromatic look and pair knitwear the same color of your skirt or be bolder and choose a contrasting color. My favorite way to wear this look is by wearing a band t.shirt, a statement jacket or cardigan, and boot.
