Hi my beauties, hope were all safe and well and adjusting to our new reality. It’s been yet another week in lock down in this household with no plans in sight on when we can return back to work so its been a week of enjoying the sunshine in the countryside by going on long walks by the river (as were extremely lucky to live in the countryside and a five minute walk from the river), cooking and online window shopping. In today’s post i will be sharing with you how i style the Living On A Prairie Trend (you can read my catwalk trend report here). this look is perfect for a night out, date night or with a change of skirt or trousers perfect for the office.

The Trend Behind The Outfit
One of the biggest trends on the catwalk was Prairie Romance. This trend is all about the volume and lots of it whether it was exaggerated sleeves with high neck tops and delicate details such as lace or embroidery. Skirts had volume in the form of ruffles, or A- Line shapes and Trousers had volume in the form of boot-cut shape. Outfits were monochromatic tones mainly in black and white. Waistcoats and sleeveless sweaters were all over the catwalk and worn over puff sleeve blouses. Footwear was either western boots, and classic loafers in black and white and worn with knee high socks and patterned tights. For accsessories the classic fedoras hats were seen on the catwalk with minimal boho jewellry and corsages.

Shop The Look
For the living on a Prairie Trend you want to wear a classic black or white waistcoat or a sleeveless jumper that you can wear over your puff sleeve blouses. I chose to wear this waistcoat as it has an added edge to it and looks great paired with this blouse. On the colder days and the unpredictable British weather you can also throw on a warmer blazer or biker jacket.
The Puff Sleeve Blouse
For this trend it all revolves around volume with high necks and puff-sleeves with delicate lace and embroidery. Think go big or go home for this trend. I chose this blouse with its big puff sleeves, delicate lace detailing, high neck and bow. It looks great when wore with a waistcoat, like pictured or when worn under slip dresses and graphic tank tops. Its such a versatile wardrobe staple that will see you through many seasons.

On the catwalk skirts had volume with either A-line shapes or volume in the form of Ruffles. I chose this skirt as its an A-line shape with delicate ruffles and the faux leather texture adds an edgyness to the look and keeps it looking modern .
For this OOTD i chose this boots as their are white and white boots were seen all the catwalks and the lace buckle details on these remind me of Victorian boots. To get the look yourself choose boots or classic loafers in either black or white.
Shop The Boots
For this look i chose to wear a classic fedora hat as their were seen all over the catwalks, i also wore minimal jewelry.
